Pajero Club announces formation of "Rural Response Group"

President John Campbell has announced the formation within the Club of the Rural Response Group and invites all members to support and participate in the very worthwhile activities of the Group.

The main purpose of the Group is to provide assistance to Victorian rural families and communities in the aftermath of events that cause loss and suffering such as bush fires, floods and other disasters. The activities of the Group will assist those rural communities in the days, weeks and months after the events by means of working bees to rehabilitate farms, rebuild physical assets, undertake Club trips to support the communities, and personal contact and assistance by Club members.

The formation of the Group gives greater emphasis and focus to community activities which the Club has undertaken from time to time in the past. The formation of the Group is very timely considering the difficulties faced this summer by so many rural communities.

With the support of our large membership, the Pajero Club hopes to become a leading 4WDV club in the area of rural response, and by so doing, will gather goodwill for our Club, and help improve the image of 4WD clubs.

The Group has already received requests for assistance from recently burnt out farming communities at Tambo Crossing and Licola. Some members held a working bee at Tambo Crossing during the Australia Day weekend, and a Club trip is now been advertised for the Labour Day March weekend to assist the Licola community.

Further details regarding the Rural Response Group are on this website located under  http://www.pajeroclub.com.au/ruralresponse  . Further information regarding the Group and future working bees can be obtained from the Group's Coordinator Doug Hammerton (mobile 0409 381 699 ).
